R-SEAT Hosts 2026 Annual UTC Conference on Technology-Driven Transportation
The Rural Safe, Efficient, and Advanced Transportation (R-SEAT) Center successfully hosted its 2026 Annual UTC Conference on April 16–17 at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. The conference brought together researchers, public agencies, industry professionals, and community partners to explore technology-driven transformation in transportation across the rural–urban divide.
The two-day program featured technical sessions highlighting R-SEAT research, interactive workshops on user perceptions of emerging transportation technologies, and expert panel discussions on scalability, safety, resilience, and mobility solutions. Keynote presentations from transportation leaders addressed data-driven safety strategies and practical approaches to improving rural transportation systems.
The conference featured live technology demonstrations and a student poster session, showcasing innovative tools, applied research outcomes, and hands-on student contributions. The event also included a strategic Advisory Board meeting, reinforcing collaboration and alignment with national transportation priorities.
